Toes

Feet,
dangling
At my eye
level, that is
how I remember
you best. Wish I could have
stopped you, too bad I had
the chance. At night, I still avoid
trees, scared my nose will run into toes.
I wonder how the view is from up there.
For her.

I
forgot
that falling
could feel like flight.
Barely remembered
How sorely my hands missed
the joy of juggling stars
until I kissed all your rough spots
in rapid succession. You taste like
moon. A slice of sky God let me borrow.

Lost
in the
analog
sway and hopeless
attempts at control.
We set our clocks to strike
perfection, but nighttime comes
too soon. Like a desperate lover,
darkness sweeps over to strangle our
dreams and shakes its little death until dawn.
Stained Glass

love’s
a stained
glass window
it doesn’t see
faults the same way we
do, dull godforsaken
oracles of demise but
rather reminds us that the most
divine things have cracks on the outside
we can’t help but shatter beneath its light
